Feedstock of the EPS granulator
At the beginning of the video, you can see a large pile of foam to be recycled, which is bulky, low-density, and takes up a lot of space. Through pre-processing techniques such as compaction and shredding, the EPS foam is converted into smaller, more manageable pieces that can be used as feedstock for the Pelletiseur EPS and then melted and pelletized!
Pelletizing Process
Melting: The shredded foam is fed into the pelletizer hopper, and then heated by the screw drive to a uniform molten state.
Extruding: The molten styrofoam flows out of the die head and is extruded into continuous long strips. The cross-sectional diameter of the strip is determined by the aperture of the die head, which can be pre-set according to your production requirements.
Cooling: The picture above shows that the extruded strips are quickly fed into the cooling tank with water to cool and form. This prevents sticking and deformation.
Cutting: The cooled expanded polystyrene strips enter the EPS granulator and are cut by the fast-rotating blades into cylindrical styrofoam pellets for use in packaging, construction, furniture, and other applications.
